Apply TodayCreative Intell’s story started with a simple conversation between two friends; David Fritz, one of the country’s top music attorneys, and Steven Ship, an artist manager and former label CEO. Over a leisurely lunch at their favorite Italian restaurant in Midtown, they soon found themselves discussing a familiar problem - the lack of accessible, trustworthy information about the music industry and its contracts.
David was lamenting about how much time he spent educating his clients about the music business. Steve understood immediately. After all, he’d learned the industry himself this way, paying a small fortune in legal fees chasing information that should have been readily available to him.
Why was this knowledge so hard to come by? So secretive, so guarded? After all, it’s been an industry-wide problem for decades, the reason why so many artists sign bad contracts they don’t understand.
There had to be a better way.
This casual conversation between friends over pasta ignited the idea that would become Creative Intell: a comprehensive music business education platform supported by a community of experts.
Today, Creative Intell offers in-depth, interactive courses on music business fundamentals and industry agreements. For those who prefer to learn visually, we've produced a unique animated series, "The Intells," that makes learning the business both fun and engaging. Our contract template library incorporates the highest quality legal language used by leading entertainment attorneys, including our own legal team. We pride ourselves on being up to date with language changes and industry trends. We take a community-based approach that supports our members to learn at their own pace while networking with like-minded artists, producers, managers, executives, and lawyers.
The story of Creative Intell is just beginning, it’s an ongoing adventure. With new courses and features added every month and so much more, come join us at the Creative Intell community.
We want to make sure you never sign a bad music contract again... or ever!

There’s more to releasing music than simply uploading it to a digital streaming platform. Whenever you're selling music online, you need to follow certain procedures to avoid potential legal complications, and be registered with the right music companies to ensure you collect ALL of your royalties.
New artist or seasoned pro, this FREE webinar, hosted by CI Academy’s in-house music attorneys David Fritz and Immy Farukhi, maps the process out for you, so you can put your business/legal concerns aside to better focus on creating music and the music promotion you’ll need to bring attention to your tracks.
