About this Course
Underlying every musical recording you’ve ever heard to is a composition. In this music publishing course, you’ll learn how songwriters protect their rights in the songs they author, and explore the roles of the music publishers who bring those songs to the masses and collect the multiple different streams of revenue they generate.
The course provides a broad overview of music publishing to give you a better understanding of how to protect your rights as a songwriter and/or musical composition copyright owner. You’ll also learn how to exploit those rights so you see maximum dollar for the songs you own or have authored.
Once you’ve completed this course, you’ll understand the importance of controlling the administration of your musical composition copyrights, how those copyrights have entirely different revenue streams from sound recordings–and how and where to collect those revenues. Plus, a whole lot more!
